About Us

Rainbow Community Arts of Olympia has been working since 2003 to support the regional Pride Festival events and local arts activities.  Soon, Pride will branch off as its own entity and Rainbow Community Arts will continue to focus on its mission to support young artists of color to create cultural works of art that lift up our diverse communities.

Austin Michael Davis.Vice President

Austin is a 29-year-old self-taught, multidisciplinary artist who has called Olympia my home for just over six years. His artwork ranges greatly from contemporary fine art to large scale mural painting. For the past five years he has owned and operated “Wide Eyed Design”, a freelance business responsible for creating, restoring, and repairing murals in the Olympia area. Austin is dedicated to the exploration, creation, and celebration of artistic expression by providing opportunities to reconnect communities through public artwork.

Jenée Redecker, Treasurer

Jenée is a proud Chehalis tribal member and mom of three, living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Jenée’s art is deeply inspired by nature, from the beautiful evergreen trees to the smallest healing plants. She incorporates plant medicine into her life and in her creative process, believing in the power of nature to nurture the body and spirit. She loves working with natural elements in her pieces—whether painting, making jewelry or weaving.  In addition to being an artist, Jenée has 15 years of grant-writing, rural planning and program management experience for regional tribes in SW Washington.

Anna Schlecht, President

As a self-described Mural Match Maker, Anna has spent the past decade lining up walls with funding for artists to transform Olympia’s visual landscape. Seeing murals as one of the more accessible mediums of public art, Anna has focused her efforts on supporting young and BIPOC artists to create powerful artwork that elevate our diverse communities.  Anna’s work in support of visual arts has been informed by 30 years of working with the local Olywa Pride Festival in many capacities, including more than a decade as the coordinator where she worked closely with many performing artists. After 40 years in local government where she worked on affordable housing and homeless programs, Anna hopes to bring those organizational skills into Rainbow’s work.
