Eight Views of Wellness. Rainbow Community Arts and the YMCA teamed up to create an eight-panel mural representing culturally diverse views of wellness. Each panel will be created by individual cultural community partnerships that choose the artist and design. Ultimately, this multi-panel mural will gather a range of artwork and culture, distinct yet linked.
The Wellness Panel: The initial panel was developed through a collaboration between the artist, the YMCA and Rainbow Arts to introduce Eight Views of Wellness by portraying some of the core YMCA activities. Reflecting on the project, artist Vega Dawson said “Creating community murals engages the people around it and allows us all to feel a sense of ownership and pride when the artwork reflects our community.”
Funders: Inspire Olympia, the PARC Foundation, the Olympia Downtown Alliance, South Sound YMCA, Rainbow Community Arts and community partners as listed on specific panels.
